The Director of the Oficina del Espa�ol or Office for Spanish, Carmen Ballesteros, made a formal presentation at Walton High School auditorium in the state of Georgia of the language-learning tourism services available in the Spanish city of Salamanca during an act organized by the University of Salamanca, Salamanca Pontificia University and Salamanca, THE City for Learning Spanish®. Before an audience of some 500 people, the Director of the Office for Spanish opened the session with a promotional video about studying Spanish in Salamanca, and then went on to emphasize the attributes of both Salamanca and its language learning facilities, as well as highlighting the city’s rich cultural heritage. Also present were the Head of International Studies from the Salamanca Pontificia University, teaching staff from the University of Salamanca, representatives from the Spanish Embassy to the United States, the Associate Superintendent for Leadership & Learning of the Parents, Teacher, Student Association, amongst others. The event was also attended by teaching staff from the Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language Masters programme, senior representatives from Georgia State Department of Education, the Dean of the Faculty of Education of Reinhardt University, as well as the directors of the teaching centres and AP (Advanced Placement) counselors. The AP certification is equivalent to the DELE qualification in Spain. At the presentation some 500 Salamanca, THE City for Learning Spanish® programme information brochures were handed out to attendees along with promotional Salamanca t-shirts, Spanish verb wheels, and pens.
